The "Perfect" Headshot

Updated: Nov 19, 2019

What elements combine to create the perfect headshot? There are so many different components - lighting, makeup, wardrobe, pose, colors etc.. Ultimately, what makes a #headshot “perfect” is that it showcases you in your best light. It should LOOK like you on your best day AND your eyes should be telling a specific story. That’s really it. All the other aspects are just sugar. Icing on a pretty cake. Everyone will have a different opinion of what your headshot should look like based on their own unique tastes. There are agents who prefer solid white backgrounds, and there are casting directors who prefer colored background. Some prefer studio shots, and others prefer outdoor shots in natural light. The decision rests with YOU ultimately. What story are you trying to convey with your picture? How do you want to be perceived?

At the end of the day the most important thing is that YOU feel proud of the picture you are sharing with the world. If you are, then the battle is won.
